The Best Location For A Campsite In France?
We think so.
We invite you to sample, with us, a truly
memorable holiday.
Direct Beach Access from your Mobile Home
The first thing you see on entering this great family campsite is the stunning view of the sea, which surrounds the site on three sides. Here, in the hot, Southern Vendee climate, we have a unique situation. We are surrounded by the ocean, sand dunes and forest, totally isolated in peaceful tranquility on what is, in fact, an island-peninsular.
This peninsular, called “La Chaume”, is surrounded by water and joined to the mainland by only a single bridge and yet, incredibly, you are only a mile and a half from the most vibrant, exciting and sophisticated resort on the west coast of France: Les Sables d'Olonne. The nightlife is unparalleled with a host of pavement cafes, bars and restaurants adorning the waterfront, together with an amazing array of pavement artists, musicians and entertainers who are organised by the town.
Alternatively, the waterfront at La Chaume hosts an array of inexpensive yet superb family restaurants within a quiet village atmosphere. Where else can two such contrasting ideals be so close together, joined by a simple ride in a water-taxi (60p), which runs all day, and into the early hours?
The campsite offers direct access to two, very different sandy beaches, ideal for surfers, body-boarders and sunbathers alike. The superb swimming pool complex with thrilling water slides, bar and restaurant are on an elevation which gives unrivalled views of the ocean from every angle. Watching the sun set over the water is something that lives in the memory forever.
The other campsite facilities are what you would expect from Les Sables' premier 4-star campsite. Apart from relaxing on the beach, you can walk for as long as you like through the forest and not see a soul, then walk back to the campsite along a deserted beach. Or, for the more adventurous, try a popular horse-riding trek along similar routes.
What's more, La Chaume is a haven for cyclists, with cycle paths and small roads free of commercial traffic. |
