Your Vehicle & Insurance
You should take your insurance certificate, vehicle registration document or log book, MOT certificate and driving licence. If you are taking a company vehicle to france, you should take with you a letter of authorisation to do so from company.
In France, displaying a GB sticker is mandatory, as is carrying a warning triangle and fitting headlamp deflectors. . New regulations introduced require that a fluorescent jacket/bib is carried for each person in the vehicle, and this must be carried in the vehicle, not the boot. Carrying spare headlamp bulbs is strongly advised.
If you change your car after receiving your ferry tickets please do not notify us as these tickets are valid for any car, and will be accepted at the port. If you are intending putting a roof box or cycles on your vehicle or you have a high vehicle, then it is important that you inform us at the time of booking as space for high vehicles is limited on many routes. Petrol stations at supermarkets are generally cheaper.
Minimum Third Party risks are automatically covered under EEC regulations but , if your policy gives comprehensive or fire & theft cover you may need to obtain a Green Card through your insurers to extend this cover to driving abroad.
