Brittany is situated in the north west of France, and has some of the most striking beaches and scenery that France has to offer. It is made up of Cote-d’ Armor, Finistere, Ille-et-Vilaine and Morbihan departements. From St-Malo to Quimper and Roscoff to Vannes, the choice for sightseeing for families on days out is endless. Carisma Holidays has mobile homes in La Foret-Fouesnant on the Cornouaille coast on the west coast of Brittany, situated on the beach which is a safe, sandy haven for families to enjoy. There is nothing better than returning to the campsite after a day on the beach to enjoy a barbeque with the family sitting outside your mobile home and tasting the finest fresh foods that the Brittany region of France has to offer.
The Breton language still features strongly here with French families, especially in the Finistere department, and Carisma Holidays customers will find it easy to pick up a few local Breton words (lann means church) whilst on their 2-week family beach holiday to this region of France.
To the north of Carisma’s campsite at La Foret-Fouesnant is the west coast region of Brittany known as the Crozon peninsula where Camaret-sur-Mer is famous for its langoustines and lobster catches, though most of the lobster catch is destined for Paris!
Inland are the castles of Josselin, Vitre and Combourg, all of which offer family days out to beautiful French villages, whilst still allowing plenty of time for the children to play on the beach while a campsite barbecue dinner is being prepared for them.
Take trips to the village of Auray for a seafood meal straight off the fishing boats or to the medieval walled city of Vannes for a family day out, then return to your mobile home before enjoying a meal with friends met on the campsite, enabling the children to play safely with their new friends.
Walk around the standing stones at Carnac – there are more than 5000 around Carnac alone and some of the lines are 1.5 kms long; wonder why and how they arrived there, and who moved them. Take a family day out to the Quiberon peninsula; try the freshest sardines which the port on the Cote Sauvage is so famous for. If time allows, the children would enjoy the boat trip out to Belle-Ile, an hour away by ferry, providing happy memories of your family holiday to Brittany with Carisma.
Most Carisma families will sail into St.-Malo or Roscoff with Brittany Ferries at the start of their 2-week beach holiday. Some will call into Dinan on the way, a famous medieval fortress for the Dukes of Brittany. From either northern French port it is a very easy drive to the campsite at La-Foret where the Carisma couriers will be waiting to show them into their mobile homes and around the comprehensive facilities the campsite has to offer. A happy start to your family holiday in France.
