This exclusive site will offer you an authentic experience of France, stunning beaches on your doorstep and a strong local community which openly welcomes visitors.Although this area offers you tranquillity and a real escape for the hustle and bustle of daily life, there are a variety of local events and attractions to help make your stay enjoyable and memorable. Every Sunday the local market in Place de la Baie is the perfect place for a stroll. The stall holders sell a selection of local produce, crafts and clothes, so you may find a tasty treat for lunch or a perfect gift to take home.Alternatively, on Tuesday evenings through July and August, there is a night market starting at 7pm in Port la Foret. An evening walk along the beach could have an added dimension with a stroll around the market and a drink in one of the local bars. On occasions through the summer you may also come across a Brocante, which is a flea market. These are popular with people looking for treasures including French linen and ceramics.Within the town there are a number of community events to which tourists are welcomed. This week will see the open celebration of Les Nuits Celtiques de Peniti at the Theatre de Verdure de Peniti, a free evening of traditional Breton music and dance. Staying at the resort, Friday evenings at the Baie de la Foret is a weekly regatta, known as the Portlaf Cara Cup, which provides interesting entertainment for people who love boats and the sea.If you want to keep up your exercise routine during your summer holiday, so enjoying a breakfast of croissants and brioche doesn’t affect your waistline, there are weekly guided beach walks, sea walks and running groups, which you can join. Intensive walking through the sand or sea certainly works a few extra muscles and provides a good fitness challenge. No matter what your interests, La Foret is the ideal place for a Brittany holiday.
