Whilst planning a holiday a long time in advance can give you a much needed event to look forward to, sometimes a last minute booking can add to the holiday excitement. If you have a passport, then a spontaneous holiday booking is possible. With less time to plan and worry about finding the perfect holiday, you could be open to discovering and experiencing a different kind of break.
After the August Bank Holiday weekend and throughout September most European destinations are still enjoying long sunny days and warm temperatures, but the cost of booking a holiday has generally lowered. If you are not tied to school holiday times, then September can be a wonderful time of year to get away.
In September, the sea has been warmed through the summer months and is pleasant for a cooling swim in the heat of the day, or even a relaxing swim at the end of the day. Resorts still have plenty going on, but with fewer crowds it is easier to get into and enjoy events and attractions. The beaches, cycle tracks, swimming pools, bars and restaurants are there to make the most of, but you have to share them with fewer people in September.
If you haven’t found the time for a holiday or have simply been enjoying the sunny British weather, you may now be considering the option of a last minute break away before autumn kicks in.
According to Accuweather.com, September is predicted to be a sunnier month that August across much of Europe. Temperatures on the South Coast of the UK range between 16-19 degrees through the month, with plenty of bright days. Across the channel in France, temperatures in Vendee vary between 19 and 24 degrees and further south in Landes the range is 21 – 26 degrees.
So there is no need to jet off to exotic locations to enjoy bright sunny days and warm temperatures. Why not consider a week or fortnight in a Carisma mobile home. Le Vieux Port in Messanges //www.carisma.co.uk/camping-le-vieux-port-messanges.html#tab-0 is our most southerly French campsite. It has direct access to extensive golden beaches, as well as many top quality on-site facilities. You can simply relax and unwind, or learn some new skills with the professional English speaking instructors at the Messanges surf school.
From Messanges you can enjoy trips out to Biarritz, Bayonne, Dax, St Jean-de-Luz and Mont de Marsan, each with its own history and specialities. If you prefer to ditch the car for the duration of your holiday, cycle hire is available from the campsite and offers a great way to explore the local area.
