While there is plenty to see and enjoy in the Vendee, there can be little doubt that the primary attraction of this delightful region is its impressive array of beaches, which stretch for mile after mile up the Atlantic coastline.
The area is, of course, well-known among holidaymakers from France and further afield - and if you've been lucky enough to visit the Vendee, it'll be easy to understand exactly why.
Firstly, though, it's worth pointing out that the variety of beaches make this an ideal destination, regardless of whether you're keen to simply relax in the sunshine or indulge in your favourite watersports.
Similarly, it is also equally well-suited to family holidays or people who are choosing to travel on their own as a means of escaping the hubbub of everyday life.
For office workers, for example, there can be few, if any, settings that are more stress-relieving than a beach on a warm summer's day.
If this is your explicit intention on your camping holiday in France, then you'd be well-advised to take a good book with you down to the beach and a towel. Here, you can relax and unwind, putting all of your regular stresses to the very back of your mind - for a few days, at least!
This is also the ideal way to work on your tan and ensure that you return to work looking suitably bronzed.
For something a bit more active, however, then the Vendee won't disappoint either, as it is known for being a top destination for water sports.
Indeed, the region has hosted international events down the years and if you're keen to take to the water on your board, there are few destinations that can quite compare.
So for the perfect beach holiday, head to the Vendee.
