The French region of Brittany is a popular holiday destination for a wide variety of reasons but some of its charms can be easily overlooked if you're a first-time visitor to this charming part of the country.
Of course, the region is well known for its impressive collection of beaches that stretch down the coast and, during the summer months in particular, are always full of holidaymakers from France and further afield.
Indeed, the golden sands of Brittany are ideal if you're a water sports enthusiast, with surfing being a particularly popular activity in the region.
However, there is much more to Brittany than you may first realise. It is, in fact, home to some extraordinary natural beauty that will take your breath away and also provide an amazing backdrop for some spectacular photographs.
Here, we're going to run through some of the most charming natural attractions in Brittany.
Lac de Guerledan
The largest lake in the region and the perfect place to enjoy the summer sunshine, Lac de Guerledan is also ideal if you just like having fun on water.
There's much more to enjoy, too, with the area known for its great trails for walking and cycling.
While this area is best known for being important to the local fishing industry, it is also one of the first and finest tourist destinations in Brittany.
And nearby, you will find a number of wild beaches and scenic coastal views from which you can capture some impressive-looking photographs.
If you want to enjoy some beautiful scenery, then there are few places that are as picturesque as Saint-Brieuc Bay.
Here, you will find cliffs, a port, sand dunes and much else to keep you occupied. Bring a camera along, though, or you risk missing a magical moment or two.
