If you believed that you need to pay out for a long haul flight in order to bask in the sun, you could be in for a surprise this week. Across the UK temperatures are expected to reach the mid to high twenties and this is due to a heat wave in France. Throughout this coming week, the population of France has been told to expect potentially record breaking temperatures.
In the South West of France, temperatures could exceed 40 degrees centigrade and 30- 40 degrees could be felt throughout the central and south westerly coastal regions. If you have to work and fulfil daily routines, this could be a challenge, however, if you are on holiday and can sit back and relax, this could be just what you were dreaming of!
Every one of the Carisma campsites along the west coast of France has a high quality swimming pool complex, which can be the perfect place to unwind, have fun and keep cool. In addition, the refreshing sea is just a short walk from your mobile home accommodation. A good splash in the waves can be a real joy when the sun in beaming down.
Remember to apply a good sun cream, which offers UVA and UVB protection. This way you can return home with a healthy glowing tan, rather than red raw blistering skin. It is especially important to keep children’s skin covered and protected with reapplications of sun cream throughout the day. Sunburn is painful and leaves anyone feeling very uncomfortable, but it can be avoided.
It is especially important to keep well hydrated during a heatwave, so make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day. Ice lollies are a treat and also a great way to encourage everyone, especially children, to take on board more liquids and remain cool.
Siestas are popular in many hot countries and whilst on holiday, why not take the opportunity for an early afternoon nap? By keeping the curtains of your mobile home closed during the day, you can help to keep the space cooler. Put a fan on to spread cool air around the interior and relax with a good book, magazine or for a shut eye.
Finally relish the opportunity to wear all those light weight summer outfits. The temperatures are expected to remain high throughout the evening, so you can sit out to watch the sun set with a delicious meal and a glass of wine, or take an evening stroll along the beach in your favourite summer shorts, shirts and skirts!
