While Brittany has a beautiful coastline and landscape, you don't need to spend every second outdoors to make the most of your visit. Below, you can find out all about some of the best family-friendly indoor attractions in the region. Brilliant for all ages, these establishments offers plenty for kids and mums and dads alike.
Visit Vannes Aquarium
Children of all ages usually love aquariums, and they're also a regular hit with parents. One of Brittany's best is L'Aquarium de Vannes (Vannes Aquarium), which you'll find in Le Parc du Golfe in Vannes. Here, you'll be able to watch marine life in some 50 tanks, home to species like sea horses, surgeonfish and clown fish, which young fans of Finding Nemo are bound to be particularly excited by!
As you stroll around the displays, you can see creatures from the Gulf of Morbihan, the Amazon and more, giving your children the chance to discover some of the world's most fascinating marine life. They can also learn more about protecting the natural environment.
Discover the stars at the planetarium
Another great indoor activity is heading to the Planetarium de Bretagne in Parc du Radome for an exciting trip into space! Boasting one of the largest planetarium auditoriums in Europe, this establishment allows you to have a realistic experience of space, with its 3D image system making you feel as if you could almost touch what you see.
It's also worth bearing in mind that there are shows with English commentary several days a week, so if you're keen for your children to learn as much as possible it's worth contacting the venue so you can time your visit correctly. However, the display is magical no matter what language you see it in, so there's no harm in hedging your bets and popping in on the spur of the moment.
