Britain is currently in the midst of one of the most unpleasant and prolonged periods of terrible weather that it has seen in recent memory. There has been widespread disruption to public transport in the country, while some people have even found themselves being forced out of their home. As a result, it’s probably difficult to imagine the peace and tranquillity that summer is likely to bring. And if you’re still to decide where to head to on your next summer holiday, then you’d be well-advised heading to the Vendee, which is a charming region that attracts holidaymakers from all over the continent. The area is best-known for its impressive collection of beaches, but contrary to popular opinion, perhaps, there is much else to see and do in this region. For instance, if you wish to enjoy the natural beauty of the Vendee – and its wildlife, in particular – then you might wish to consider taking a bike ride. There are a number of specific trails created for bikers and from the comfort of the saddle you can absorb the incredible array of animals that you’re certain to stumble across. Another great way to see the Vendee is from the skies by taking a balloon and letting the wind take you in whatever direction it chooses (well, almost!). In fact, if you’ve never had the opportunity to go ballooning before, then this is one event that you simply cannot miss. Alternatively, how about taking a boat out to sea and appreciating the beauty of the Vendee from the Atlantic? The region is home to mile after mile of golden sand, which make for the perfect backdrop for a photograph. With so much to see and do in the Vendee, it can fairly be said that there are there are few holiday destinations as versatile.
