While the French region of the Vendee has been a popular holiday destination for locals since the 1800s, it has also become well-known among those from further afield in the last few decades.
Since then, however, holidaymakers from elsewhere in Europe have flocked to the Vendee - and with good reason too.
If you've visited the region before, then you can testify to the spectacular array of beaches that can be found here, as well as the great range of activities on offer.
But if you've never been to the region before but plan to do so in the near future, you're in for a real treat.
For instance, if your sole focus of your break is to relax and unwind, thereby leaving everyday stresses behind you, then the beaches of the Vendee are the perfect place to do exactly that.
During the summer months, in particular, they are excellent for soaking in the sunshine and perhaps enjoying a good book. A few hours spent on the beach and office life will seem a million miles away.
Thankfully, there are loads of great beaches here and so you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where to go.
Alternatively, you may fancy enjoying a more active break - and the Vendee is perfect for this.
It is, in fact, a very popular destination for surfers and fans of other water sports. This means that you can have hours of fun in the water, before heading out for something to eat in the evening.
For little kids, meanwhile, the sandy beaches are great for playing simple ball sports or even just building sand castles.
With so much to see and do in this delightful region, you're sure to have a great time on your camping holiday in France.
